About Iain Forbes

Inspired by classic rock guitar music, Iain started his journey as a rock guitarist in his teens, and his love for music evolved through the years to include many styles such as blues, jazz, country, folk and classical.

He has worked with award winning Film maker Jim Brown and B4 films providing original music for a film and documentary featuring King Charles III and other members of the Royal Family.  The Prince’s Vision had its TV premiere in Australia in July 2016 and 'A Royal Grand Design' by ITV1 in November 2022.   'His beautiful music and extraordinary playing has lifted the films to another level' - Jim Brown/B4 Films - Award winning Film maker.

Iain has dazzled audiences at many festivals and music venues around the UK with his multi-styled guitar playing. Some notable concert venues he has played include The Royal Concert Hall, The Barrowlands, The SECC and the Fruitmarket in Glasgow. He has played on bills with many world class artists such as Don Powell/Slade, Steve Norman/Spandau Ballet, Eddie Reader, Brian Kennedy, Donnie Munro/Runrig, John Renbourn, The James Brown Band, Ally McErlaine/Red Sky July, Horse McDonald, Ricki Lee Jones, Bruce Molsky, Joscho Stephan, John Goldie, Tony McManus, John Doyle, Fraser Speirs, Elliot Randall/Steely Dan, Jerry Donahue/Hellecasters, Carl Verheyen/Supertramp, Steve Harley/Cockney Rebel and Mike Peters/The Alarm.

As well as working solo, Iain sings lead vocals and plays Guitar with Glasgow based group The Audiorayz.

Among his other accolades Iain previously played an annual event for Gibson Guitars and The Nordoff Robbins Charity and was given an artist deal by Gibson.

Iains most recent album 'A Singing Bird Box'  is a creative collection of melodic songs and music and features some of his finest acoustic guitar work.  It is available on CD and all the usual digital media outlets.
